Install, reinstall & move VoiceWink

Requirements

Windows 11, x64 build — it also runs fine on arm64 PCs. CPU only, no GPU needed; the tiny local model runs on any modern laptop, and large-v3 is happiest with 8 GB+ of RAM. The installer brings the .NET runtime with it.

Fresh install

Run the installer — it is code-signed via Microsoft Trusted Signing (publisher DV Studio), installs per-user with no admin rights, and keeps itself up to date automatically.

Public downloads open at launch, September 2026. Beta testers: use your personal invite link — the installer you already have updates itself, so there is nothing new to fetch here.

Reinstall or repair

Just run the installer again. Reinstalling over an existing installation doesn't touch your data — settings, history, dictionary, downloaded models, and your license stay exactly where they were (everything lives under %LOCALAPPDATA%\VoiceWink on your machine).

Moving to a new PC

Deactivate the old machine in the app (License page → “Deactivate on this machine”), then activate the new one with the same key — tiers count active PCs, not lifetime installs. Old PC dead or wiped? Support frees the slot. Settings can travel too: export them on the old machine (Settings → Export) and import on the new one.

Getting help

support@dvstudio.app — or use “Report a problem” inside the app, which can attach a redacted diagnostic bundle.
