This notice explains how cookies and similar tracking technologies are used on the VoiceWink commerce website at voicewink.app and complements the VoiceWink Privacy Policy, which describes how the VoiceWink application — and, in its Section 5, this website — process personal data.
1. What are cookies
Cookies are small pieces of data placed on your device while visiting voicewink.app to store information.
2. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies
voicewink.app sets no tracking, advertising, profiling, or behavioral-targeting cookies, and does not read device characteristics such as fonts, canvas rendering, or screen properties to recognize you. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not share or sell any browsing data for advertising. Section 3 explains the cookieless method our own measurement uses to tell that two page views belong to the same visit.
3. Our analytics are cookieless
We measure how voicewink.app is used with two cookieless tools, both running on Cloudflare's network, which already hosts the site (see the Privacy Policy, Section 5); the visit data goes to no other company. Neither sets a cookie, and neither writes anything to your device.
Cloudflare Web Analytics is privacy-preserving by design: it sets no cookies, uses no browser local storage, performs no fingerprinting, and your IP address is discarded at Cloudflare's edge and never stored for analytics. It reads only short-lived browser performance-timing data (for example, how fast the page loaded). The result is aggregate, non-identifying traffic statistics.
Our own page beacon is a small script served from our own subdomain (s.voicewink.app) that records which of our pages you open, the page or site that referred you or the source tag of the link we published that brought you here, your approximate country, how long each page was visible on your screen, and whether you clicked the Download or Buy links. It sends the page address without any query string or fragment. When you arrive through a link we published that carries a source tag (for example ?src=msstore on our Microsoft Store listing, a button inside the VoiceWink app, or the tag Product Hunt adds to its links), it sends that tag as a separate value; the tag names where we published the link, not who you are, and it is only ever one of a fixed list of values we chose — the script sends nothing for any other value, and our server discards any other value it receives. It sets no cookie, writes nothing to your device, and stores no IP address. So that two page views can be recognized as one visit, it derives a short-lived identifier by hashing your IP address together with your browser's user-agent string, the current date (UTC), and a secret value that only our server holds. The identifier is the same for all your page views that day, including a return later the same day; it changes at midnight (UTC), and nothing we keep links it to your visits on other days. This lets us see your visits that day as sequences of pages, with how long each was on screen, but not who made them.
We do not link this data to any other data about you, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes. We keep the visit-level data for three months, on Cloudflare's systems; daily totals without any visit-level detail are kept by us for as long as we operate the site. If you prefer the beacon not to count you, use the opt-out switch in Section 4, or set the value vw-notrack to 1 in your browser's local storage for voicewink.app: the beacon reads that one value, which you set yourself, and sends nothing while it is set to 1. The choice lasts until this site's data is cleared from your browser, whether by you or by the browser itself (a private window clears it when closed). A browser that blocks local storage for voicewink.app is not counted by the beacon at all.
4. Opt out of our page beacon
The switch below sets or clears the vw-notrack value described in Section 3 in this browser's local storage for voicewink.app, and only when you press it. Apart from the strictly necessary cookies described in Section 5, it is the only thing on this site that writes to your device. It does not affect Cloudflare Web Analytics, which stores nothing on your device. You can also object to this measurement by writing to the contact in Section 7.
5. The only cookies that may be set
The only cookies that may be placed when you visit voicewink.app are Cloudflare's strictly-necessary security/anti-bot cookies, which Cloudflare uses to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated abuse and to protect the site. These cookies are strictly necessary to provide the service you requested. We use them for no other purpose. We do not require your prior consent for the use of these cookies.
6. Third-party cookies
When you choose to buy a license, the Buy flow redirects you to a hosted checkout operated by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. That checkout is a separate website that may set its own cookies under Lemon Squeezy's own cookie and privacy notices on the basis of which we cannot be held liable. This notice covers only voicewink.app.
